PDK4 and neoplasm: In tumor cells, senescence can generate ROS, leading to oxidative stress in tumor cells, and this oxidative stress environment helps tumor cells shift to aerobic glycolysis, thus promoting tumor development; in addition, senescent cells exhibit PDK4‐dependent aerobic glycolysis, which promotes an increase in intracellular lactic acid production, and a large amount of lactic acid formed generates ROS, which ultimately contributes to senescence of peripheral cells and even the tissue system and promote tumor proliferation.
