When HLH was first diagnosed, the following parameters were found to be statistically different between the two groups: c-reactive protein (CRP), platelet count, serum total bilirubin (STB), albumin, triglycerides (TG), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), blood urea nitrogen (BUN), blood potassium, ferritin, IL-6, IL-10, IFN-γ, and plasma EBV-DNA load (all P < 0.05). The gene discussed is CRP; the disease is hemophagocytic syndrome.
