Although we did not detect any significant changes in pre-mRNA binding and splicing kinetics, these data show that the Y2334N substitution modulates the behavior of PRPF8, which results in changes in splicing of selected genes and expression of hundreds of genes, some of which are involved in RPE structure and function and are associated with RP. The gene discussed is PRPF8; the disease is retinitis pigmentosa 1.
