Penalva-Olcina et al. (2024) demonstrated that, when exposing neuroblastoma cells (SH-SY5Y) to micromolar doses of OTA (3.1, 6.25, 12.5 μM) for 24 h and 48 h, an increase in IL-6 and TNF-α production was observed, correlating with an increase of the SubG0 phase of the cell cycle, being this an indicator of cell death via the apoptosis pathway. The gene discussed is IL6; the disease is neuroblastoma.
