IL6 and infection: Infection with MHV-68 resulted in an elevated abundance of cytokines (TNF-α and IL-6) that triggered inflammation (Fig. 2C and D), an upsurge in pyroptosis-related molecules involving caspase-1, IL-1β, and IL-18 (Fig. 2F–H), along with a decrease in IL-10 concentration, an anti-inflammatory cytokine (Fig. 2E), in peritoneal macrophages.
