HGF is significantly elevated in cardiac amyloidosis patients (P < 0.001), and HGF level of 205 pg/ml can distinguish cardiac amyloidosis, symptomatic heart failure with left ventricular hypertrophy, and HFrEF patients, with a sensitivity of 86%, specificity of 84%, and area under the curve of 0.88 (95% CI 0.83–0.94). The gene discussed is HGF; the disease is heart failure.
