Upon multivariable analysis (Table 4), risk of stroke recurrence remained significantly associated with a prior history of stroke (HR = 3.65, 95% CI:2.28–5.99, p = 0.0001), tPA (HR = 2.84, 95% CI:1.57–4.86, p = 0.0003), seizure (HR = 1.96, 95% CI:1.14–3.22, p = 0.0105), and depression (HR = 2.26, 95% CI:1.33–3.69, p = 0.0016).
