HMGA2 and carcinoma: Although rearrangement of the HMGA2 gene has been repeatedly reported in pleomorphic adenoma (PA) and carcinoma ex PA, Agaimy et al1 recently described 28 cases of morphologically unique tumors, exhibiting a distinctive canalicular and trabecular growth pattern, common p40 and p63 immunonegativity, and HMGA2 fusions detected in 14/16 analyzable cases.
