Wnt5a has been shown to act as a proto-oncogene in melanoma, breast cancer, prostate and pancreatic cancer, and a tumor suppressor in breast cancer, colon, thyroid and esophageal squamous cell carcinoma, acute lymphoblastic lymphoma, acute myeloid lymphoma, and neuroblastoma (Taciak et al., 2018). The gene discussed is WNT5A; the disease is breast carcinoma.
