A detailed battery of immunohistochemical (IHC) studies supported the diagnosis and showed expression of the pancytokeratin (CKAE1/3), CK7, PAX8 and the epithelial membrane antigen (EMA) markers in the carcinoma component, with no immunoreactivity in the sarcoma (osseous) component (Figures 2A–E). This evidence concerns the gene MUC1 and carcinoma.
