The performance of TIMP-2*IGFBP7 in pediatric patients was evaluated by Westhoff et al. [19] on a cohort of 133 patients aged 0–18 years, of which 46 with AKI according to pediatric Risk, Injury, Failure, Loss, End Stage Renal Disease (pRIFLE) criteria, 27 without AKI (non-AKI group I) and 60 apparently healthy neonates and children (non-AKI group II). The gene discussed is TIMP2; the disease is stage 5 chronic kidney disease.
