GC cells highly express actin-like protein 6A (ACTL6A), which upregulates the expression of the catalytic subunit of γ-L-glutamyl-L-cysteine ligase (GCLC), thereby decreasing the reactive oxygen species (ROS) level and inhibiting ferroptosis, and inhibition of ACTL6A and GCLC may be a potential therapeutic strategy for GCs (62). The gene discussed is GCLC; the disease is gastric cancer.
