Similarly, our previous studies demonstrated that exercise could alleviate nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) by facilitating the AMPK/SIRT1 pathway and that Rhodiola treatment activated MIF and downstream lipophagy, as well as lipid metabolism, and subsequently reduced lipid accumulation in the liver in NAFLD [21, 50]. This evidence concerns the gene SIRT1 and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease.
