When CD8+ T cells were co-cultured with tetrandrine-preconditioned melanoma cells, we noted a significant rise in IFN-γ secretion, as determined by ELISA, suggesting that tetrandrine’s enhancement of antigen presentation on melanoma cells indirectly enhances CD8+ T cell activation and their effector functions, resulting in an intensified immune response (Fig. 2c). This evidence concerns the gene CD8A and melanoma.
