Building on our investigation into the consequences of FABP5 silencing on mesothelioma cell dynamics and metabolism and on previous reports indicating that FABP5 induces an increased FAs synthesis leading to NF-κB activation via production of ROS derived from β-oxidation in mitochondria48–50, we delved into its influence on NF-κB activity and downstream targets. The gene discussed is FABP5; the disease is mesothelioma.
