SLC1A3 and glioblastoma: GBM cells possess many different types of receptors which work toward their survival and growth, including the following: ionotropic α‐amino‐3‐hydroxy‐5‐methyl‐4‐isoxazolepropionic acid (AMPA), NMDA, and kainate glutamate receptors, group I‐III metabotropic receptors; excitatory amino acid transporters (EAATs), the cysteine‐glutamate antiporter (SXc) system, GABAA receptor, acid‐sensing ion channels (ASICs), Inward rectifying potassium channels, glutamate‐aspartate transporters (GLAST), and sodium‐coupled neutral amino acid transporters (SNAT) receptors (Natarajan and Venneti 2019).
