For example, a diagnosis of chronic B cell lymphocytic leukaemia has the highest correlation with lymphocyte-activation gene 3 protein intensity (r = 0.46, 95% CI: [0.333, 0.571], P = 8.4 × 10–31); lymphocyte-activation gene 3 is an immune checkpoint that is expressed on leukaemia cells and has been shown to be an effective prognostic marker (Supplementary Fig. 5)31.
