Recent studies have highlighted STC2 as a gene of interest in cancer biology due to its upregulation in a wide range of human cancers, including breast cancer, esophageal squamous-cell carcinoma, hepatocellular carcinoma, colorectal cancer, gastric cancer, renal cell carcinoma, and prostate cancer [9,10,11,12,13]. The gene discussed is STC2; the disease is breast carcinoma.
