It has been shown that LAMC2 and LAMA3, when used as target genes of miRNAs, participate in apoptosis and other cellular damaging processes; for example, LAMA3 and LAMC2 are involved in encoding laminin 332, which, in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma, causes apoptosis and the epithelial–mesenchymal transition [15]. This evidence concerns the gene LAMA3 and pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma.
