To study the expanded use of IL-6 inhibition, RESCUE, a phase II trial that recruited 264 individuals with an hsCRP of at least 2 mg/L and with moderate to severe chronic kidney disease reported that the administration of IL-6 inhibitor, ziltivekimab, over 24 weeks, was associated with nearly 88% reduction in hsCRP [258]. The gene discussed is IL6; the disease is chronic kidney disease.
