Other potential therapeutic options in the future could include itepekimab, a human monoclonal antibody that inhibits IL-33, which is under consideration in adults with moderate-to-severe asthma [88], and inhibitors targeting Janus kinases (JAKs), enzymes crucial for the signal transduction of inflammatory cytokines, particularly those implicated in type 2 asthma [89] (Table 2).
