The results of the secondary outcome analysis showed that increased BNP was associated with a significantly increased risk of IHD [HR 1.19 (1.03–1.38)], AMI [HR 1.33 (1.14–1.55)], HF [HR 1.45 (1.24–1.71)], atrial fibrillation and flutter [HR 1.25 (1.06–1.49)], and all-cause mortality [HR 1.36 (1.26–1.52)].
