In terms of phenolic alcohols, HT presented antiproliferative, apoptotic, anti-angiogenic, antimigratory, anti-invasive, and antimetastatic effects, especially on breast and colorectal cancer, by modulating key pathways and molecules involved in cancer progression, such as EMT, EGFR, PI3K/Akt/mTOR, NF-κB, STAT3, ERK1/2, HIF-1α, PGE2, COX-2, VEGF, ROS, PARP1, FAS, and PPARγ. Here, PARP1 is linked to colorectal cancer.
