Since one of mechanisms underlying chemotherapy-induced neuropathy involves oxidative stress and the induction of antioxidant enzymes, such as HO-1, which can attenuate the mechanical and thermal allodynia caused by PTX [22], the activation of the endogenous antioxidant system by MCC950 suggests that this system could contribute to the antiallodynic effects of this NLRP3 inhibitor.
