This idea is supported by recent preclinical studies that showed that MCC950 rescued the memory deficits caused by orthopedic surgery through normalizing the increased interleukin levels in the hippocampus [58] and that molecular hydrogen attenuated the cognitive impairments caused by vascular dementia by inhibiting NLRP3 inflammasome activation in the hippocampus [59].
