Altered cellular levels of certain sncRNAs (lncRNA, miR-223, miR-21) can also be associated with AML-associated cell genetic abnormalities (t(8;21), FLT3-ITD, mutations of NPM1, CEBPA, IDH2, ASXL1, RUNX1), and the responsiveness to noncoding RNAs can be altered in AML cells compared with normal cells (miRNA-146a). This evidence concerns the gene IDH2 and acute myeloid leukemia.
