Thus, Exportin 1 expression seems important for clinical chemosensitivity in human AML, and studies in AML cell lines as well as primary AML cell samples suggest that there is a crosstalk between p53 and Exportin 1, especially with regard to regulation of apoptosis; this crosstalk seems less important with regard to the antiproliferative effect of Exportin 1 inhibition.
