Results of multivariable ordinal regression analysis showed that a positive family history of dementia was significantly associated with APOE-ε4 carriership, with individuals reporting a family history being more than twice as likely to carry an additional copy of the APOE-ε4 allele compared to those without a family history (OR = 2.14, 95 %CI = 1.66 – 2.77; Supplementary Table 3). The gene discussed is APOE; the disease is dementia.
