[13] reported that low levels of VEGF (with a median value of 33 pg/mL) in patients admitted for acute HF are associated with more severe signs of congestion and adverse clinical events, with a 1-year mortality rate being the highest in those with low VEGF levels (35% vs. 18% in patients with the highest VEGF levels).
