Since hypothyroidism increases the uterine population of glycogen cells during early pregnancy [6,19], we analyzed the amount of glycogen and the expression of LDH, GLUT4, and aromatase (as an indicator of estradiol synthesis) in the uterus of hypothyroid rabbits during implantation (day 5 of pregnancy), placentation (day 10 of pregnancy), and placenta maturation (day 20 of pregnancy) [26,27]. This evidence concerns the gene SLC2A4 and hypothyroidism.
