EGFR and Alzheimer disease: The results of the SMR analysis indicated the potential causal role of two genes (EGFR and HMOX1) in AD risk (SMR p < 0.05, HEIDI p > 0.05), as shown in Figure 4C. The gene expression of EGFR was positively associated with AD risk (SMR Beta = 2.91 × 10−3, 1.17 × 10−2), while the gene expression of HMOX1 was negatively correlated with AD risk (SMR Beta = −4.87 × 10−3, −2.04 × 10−2), as shown in Figure 4C.
