The aim of this study is to identify the expression of galectin-1 and miR-22-3p in breast cancer and analyze their value as prognostic factors, to elucidate the role of the miR-22-3p/galectin-1 axis in the cell cycle and epithelial–mesenchymal transition (EMT) pathway according to molecular subtypes of breast cancer, and to determine whether the modulation of the galectin-1/miR-22-3p axis could be a molecular subtype-specific breast cancer treatment strategy. The gene discussed is LGALS1; the disease is breast cancer.
