Immunohistochemical analysis of c-Myc confirmed its downregulation in salicylate-treated animals (Figure 1), and exposure of HCT116 colon cancer cells to salicylate caused downregulation of c-Myc, with a 65% decrease in protein abundance after 48 h exposure to 3 mM of salicylate (Figure 2A).
