The recurrence of stroke in our cohort was seen in 29.0% of cases, notably in patients with moyamoya disease and syndrome (neurofibromatosis 1 (NF1)) but also in inflammatory conditions, including systemic lupus erythematosus and primary CNS angiitis, similar to the study done by Akter et al. [11]. Moreover, the progressive changes in follow-up MRA were strongly associated with poorer clinical outcomes (p=0.03). The gene discussed is NF1; the disease is Moyamoya disease.
