Notably, targeting various steps in the MAPK pathway with BRAF plus MEK inhibitors has been established as the standard of care for patients with advanced-stage melanoma harboring BRAF V600 mutations.34 MEK inhibitor Trametinib has been proposed to possess activity towards TNBC in phase 2 study.35 We hypothesize that combining this approach with bevacizumab could yield synergistic antitumor effects through vertical inhibition. Here, BRAF is linked to melanoma.
