The GABP is composed of one Ets‐related GABPα subunit and an ankyrin repeat‐containing GABPβ subunit.[30] The combined action of multiple transcription factors is an important mechanism that allows GABP to regulate lineage‐restricted target genes.[31, 32] The change in GABP expression levels in the serum of mice of different ages and their correlation with UACR in mice demonstrate the potential of GABP as an early biomarker of renal function damage in diabetic nephropathy.
