LPA and coronary artery disorder: Similarly, a large case-control study involving 6,497 participants (3,145 with coronary artery disease [CAD] and 3,352 controls) from the Precocious Coronary Artery Disease (PROCARDIS) Consortium identified two variants (rs10455872 and rs3798220) in the Lp(a) gene locus (LPA) linked to elevated plasma Lp(a) levels and significantly increased CAD risk (OR 1.70, 95% CI 1.49–1.95; and OR 1.92, 95% CI 1.48–2.49, respectively) [40].
