All examples of melanoma showed at least one aberration involving a major oncogene or tumour suppressor, including one case of each with gain of MYC (8q24), gain of RREB1 (6p24) in conjunction with loss of MYB (6q23), homozygous loss of PTEN (10p23), deletion of BRCA1 (17q21), and loss of TP53 (17p13). This evidence concerns the gene MYB and melanoma.
