Histology showed a myofibroblastic submucosal lesion with a vascular collagenous stroma, with areas of myxoid degeneration and the presence of abundant eosinophils. By immunochemistry, the tumor showed focal whorled reactivity for smooth muscle actin (SMA) and was positive for vimentin, weakly positive for SMA, and negative for desmin, S100, KIT, and DOG-1. This evidence concerns the gene SMN1 and neoplasm.
