This is potentially interesting since IL6R is believed to be a key driver as part of the NLRP3 inflammasome driving atherosclerosis26.Taken together, our observation of seed genes exemplified by the plasma levels of XPNPEP2, ADM and ILR6 that closely mirror their levels of gene expression may have potential as biomarkers for clinically relevant conditions such as in the three examples: Vasodilation (XPNPEP2), Vitamin B12 deficiency (ADM) and degree, or resilience to atherosclerosis (ILR6). This evidence concerns the gene NLRP3 and atherosclerosis.
