SARS‐CoV2 infections increase the risk of ischemic stroke (IS), potentially through a thromboinflammatory cascade driven by an imbalance in the ratio of Von Willebrand Factor (VWF) and a disintegrin and metalloproteinase with a thrombospondin type 1 motif, member 13 (ADAMTS13), leading to the formation of ultra‐large VWF (UL‐VWF). This evidence concerns the gene VWF and ischemic stroke.
