PRNP and lung adenocarcinoma: By using two lung adenocarcinoma cell lines, CL1-1 and CL1-5, we observed that ectopic expression of miR-193b-3p in PRNP-high-expressing CL1-5 cells resulted in downregulation of cell migration and invasion, an effect that was partially reversed by re-overexpression of PRNP (Fig. 3A); depletion of miR-193b-3p in PRNP-low-expressing CL1-1 cells led to upregulation of cell migration and invasion, which was significantly reduced by knockdown of PRNP (Fig. 3B).
