Notably, redefining PMI using this threshold, even when combined with an absolute postprocedural cTnI value ≥5 times the 99th percentile URL, was associated with a 4-fold increase in the risk of 1-year all-cause mortality, regardless of the presence of new myocardial ischemia (electrocardiographic, imaging, and angiographic criteria).
