These functions of CD36 have been reported for cancer cells from different tumor types, including hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) (13, 20, 21), breast cancer (16, 22), bladder cancer (18, 23), stomach cancer (24, 25), ovarian cancer (26, 27), head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (14, 28), lung cancer (29, 30), and others (11, 17, 19). Here, CD36 is linked to hepatocellular carcinoma.
