In this study, the expression of cGAS and STING did not correlate with the pathological response to treatment, but rather “high‐to‐high” STING expression indicated a poor survival, supporting the tumor promoting effects of the STING pathway [39, 40, 41, 42, 43, 44] rather than the anti‐tumor effects [14, 39, 40] and suggesting that tumors with “high‐to‐high” STING expression harbor a chronic inflammatory state, which may promote tumor progression. This evidence concerns the gene CGAS and neoplasm.
