These findings align with previous research highlighting the role of NO-sGC-cGMP pathway in cardiovascular protection.26,27 The GUCY1A3 gene, which encodes an alpha subunit of the sGC complex, has been linked to CAD and MI in large-scale GWAS.26,27 Our results show that increased GUCY1A3 expression in the tibial artery is associated with lower SBP and a reduced risk of CAD and MI, reinforcing the potential of sGC stimulation as a therapeutic strategy for CAD management.
