For example, GLP-1 RAs have been shown to be associated with an increase in growth hormone release in healthy patients.23 Broadly, GLP-1 RAs activate neural signaling from the hypothalamus, resulting in increased secretion of neuropeptides, such as the gonadotropin releasing hormone, and various downstream effects on the hypothalamic-pituitary axis.24 These complex interactions may be necessary to understand in patients on GLP-1 RAs with dysfunction of the hypothalamic-pituitary axis because of other conditions such as pituitary adenomas. Here, GH1 is linked to pituitary gland adenoma.
