Although this is the first time that TREM-1has been associatedwith pyroptosis in viral infections, it has already been describedas a potent inducer of pyroptosis in a murine model of chronic obstructivepulmonary disease.61 Modulation of TREM-1using the inhibitory peptide LR17 demonstrated that key pyroptosis-relatedproteins, such as pro-caspase 1, caspase 1 p10, gasdermin, and gasderminN, were attenuated following receptor inhibition. This evidence concerns the gene CASP1 and viral infectious disease.
