Three autologous CD19-directed CAR T-cell therapies (tisagenlecleucel, axicabtagene ciloleucel, and lisocabtagene maraleucel) are currently approved for the treatment of diffuse-large B cell lymphoma (DLBCL) on the basis of encouraging initial overall response rates (ORRs), with lasting responses achieved in 40-74% of patients across landmark clinical trials. The gene discussed is CD19; the disease is diffuse large B-cell lymphoma.
