A previous study reported elevated IL-10 concentrations in cancer patients when core temperatures reached 41.8 °C in induced hyperthermia (Robins et al. 1995), whilst no IL-10 changes were observed in ankylosing spondylitis patients and healthy control subjects when body core temperatures reached 38.7–39.0 °C (Zauner et al. 2014). The gene discussed is IL10; the disease is cancer.
