Despite the differences, the significance (p < 10− 3) observed on the rs12461706 [T] locus from Shungin, Haworth [17], and rs11084095 [A] from Munz, Richter [29] partially support the important role of gene SIGLEC5. Both rs12461706 [T] and rs11084095 [A] were annotated on SIGLEC5 which functioning innate immune systems and contributes to periodontitis [35]. Here, SIGLEC5 is linked to periodontitis.
