SLC26A6 and nephrolithiasis: Slc26a6-deleted mice showed alterations in epithelial transport functions in the pancreatic ducts (Song et al., 2012), in the proximal intestine (Wang et al., 2005; Tuo et al., 2006; Singh et al., 2008a; Singh et al., 2008b; Singh et al., 2010; Knauf et al., 2011; Xia et al., 2014; Neumeier et al., 2020), and the salivary glands (Shcheynikov et al., 2008), without morphological abnormalities, as well as the development of kidney stone on a high oxalate diet (Jiang et al., 2006), and deficits in pHi-regulation in the heart (Sirish et al., 2017).
